Knights Ferry News 6-21-23

The Knights Ferry Church’s Vacation Bible School was a success filled with new and familiar faces! Randy Mandy and Charlie led the children in worship singing songs, encouraging the kids to come up and help lead the group. The ladies in the kitchen planned snacks aligned with the science theme including Jell-O in petri dishes, and serving lemonade in Erlenmeyer flask shaped cups including a bit of extra juice for the kids to pour in to make their own special drink. The kids made fingerprint magnets, sharpie art coasters, and petri dish ornaments in the crafts area. They played games and had water balloon fights, had classroom time, story time, and even had a swim party after the last day of the program. The Vacation Bible School has had multiple generations of local families attend and come back to help plan the program but it is the support and diligence of Heather Wright and Nancy Redden who work to keep the program up and running!

My sincerest condolences go out to the family and friends of Sharon Page. Sharon was another wealth of information about the local history and she had a special interest in antiques. She was a mainstay in the Knights Ferry Museum and much of Knights Ferry’s history will be shared with the future generations due to her contributions to the Miller’s Hall and Museum.
