As the year 2009 passed, so did long time Knights Ferrian Walt Taylor. Walt was raised in the Ferry, attending the Knights Ferry School with his three siblings, as did his parents, Bert and Mildred. He was a well-known cattleman, raising Charolais cattle. Walt was a 57 year member of the Knights Ferry I.O.O.F. Lodge, where he served up many a breakfast on the first Sunday of the month. He leaves behind his loving companion Virginia Gibson, sons, Pat, Mike and David and daughter Barbara, 20 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. His brother, Bob Taylor, survives him. Viewing will be Friday, January 8th from 4-8 p.m. and services Saturday, January 9th at 10 a.m., both at the Oakdale Memorial Chapel with a celebration of his life following at the I.O.O.F. Hall in Knights Ferry. Condolences go out to all his family from Knights Ferry.
