The Knights Ferry Community Club dinner was well attended. The tables were decorated with red coverings and greens and ornaments. Pastor Tanis said Grace and the Oakdale High School Choir, under the direction of Brian Mills, got to eat first so they could sing to the audience during dinner. There were many delicious dishes as well as ham, turkey and all the fixings. Madison Abbott, former Knights Ferry resident and KFS graduate was one of the soloists. Other soloists were Erica Vandeveen, Emily Johnson, Kaylee Inman, Bianca Anderson and Alida McKeon. Aimee Smith, granddaughter of Helen Smith, was in the choir. Under the tree the canned goods and toys flowed out into the room. They will be distributed to needy families by the church. It was a wonderful evening.

The Sunday for Christmas in Knights Ferry dawned bright and sunny. The breakfast was delicious, the many craft booths were stocked with great items for Christmas gifts, and the Ice Cream parlor handed out free cookies and drinks. The parade was bigger and better and there were many watching. The Oakdale Rural Fire Department led off with their two trucks. Ben Cassinetto drove his tractor and pulled a trailer with Santa and children. Michelle Muller pulled a trailer with her 4-wheeler with Breanna Banks and Dakota Voortman dressed as dogs. Tracy Griesner rode her 4-wheeler with Jordyn Lewis behind her. Tim McKinsey had his backhoe in the parade and Jim Rotelli had his tractor pulling a trailer. Larry Hayes rode his riding lawn mower and pulled some children in the trailer. Ed and Christine Fortuny rode motorized ice chests. The Brunker’s drove the Rancheria Del Rio fire truck and Jason Lewis (Santa) drove Phil and Lisa Frymire’s Cadillac. There were llamas from the Orange Blossom 4-H, Elise Seeds led E-Z Cash, Andi Jones led Avalich and Charissa Dempewal led Manhattan. Gwyn Davis and Rhiannon Henthorn rode in the rumble seat of the Shearer’s Model A. These were just some of the entries and all were decorated to the hilt! It was great!

Landon Burns walked out the back door of his Morrison Road house and a mountain lion was right there! Watch out as the lions are following the deer out of the snowy mountains.
