Miles Shuper’s Celebration of Life will be June 8th at 1pm at the Community Club in town. I expect a lot of friends and family coming from near and far to celebrate Miles!

The Peddler’s Faire was met with a bit of rain and cool weather but that didn’t stop the antique and craft hunters from stopping by to shop at the vendors booths! The vendors were troupers because it was a little chilly in the early morning when most vendors arrive to set up their booths before the public arrived. The Peddler’s Faire is the Knights Ferry Museum’s largest fundraiser. The money is raised from selling vendor booth spots but it is free for people to attend! Thank you to all the volunteers who work hard to promote, plan, and execute this very popular day in Knights Ferry!

The East Stanislaus Fire Safe Council is looking for people to get involved in researching funding grants for future fire protection projects in the area. You may remember in 2022 when they were able to fund a fire fuel reduction project removing thick brush and trees from areas that could bring more danger in the event of a wildfire. The East Stanislaus Fire Safe Council does not just include the smaller towns outside of Oakdale. They are currently targeting the river corridor at Kerr Park! Get involved to lower the risk for wildfire damage in our area! Email dolleenh@ymail.com for more information.
