Orange Blossom 4-H has had its first meeting and the new reporter turned this in to print in this column: My name is Madeline Freitas. I am the Reporter for Orange Blossom 4-H for this year. I am 11 years old and this is my third year in 4-H. I have been involved with the following groups, Cooking, Traveling, Gardening, Horse, Baking and Speech. I think the one that I learned the most from was Speech. I competed at all levels including State and I won gold every time. I learned a lot and am very thankful for the leadership that I received from Mrs. Reed. During the summer I was able to attend Camp Sylvester. We met kids from 4-H groups from all over. This is my first time as Reporter and I look forward to bringing everyone news from Orange Blossom 4-H. The meetings are the second Monday of the month at 6:30 at the Odd Fellows Hall. It is not to late to join!

Denise and Roger Ray and sons Jordan and Alec have returned from San Diego and Los Angeles. Denise had a conference to attend so the boys and Roger roamed around San Diego (90 degrees) and discovered interesting ethnic areas. They all went to the San Diego Zoo and spent the day. Denise said since it was mid week, there were not many people and they enjoyed all the animals. The boys enjoyed swimming every day. They went to the Los Angeles County Museum on the hottest day, 113 degrees. Thank goodness for air conditioning.
