Knights Ferry News 3-18-20
Nastasia Sweet

Multiple local groups and community members came out for Love Knights Ferry! The Odd Fellows, The Masons, The Miller’s Hall, Orange Blossom 4H, Community Club, Knights Ferry School, Rainbow Girls, and locals pitched in to tidy up the town. Saturday morning was as easy as knocking down the cobwebs on buildings to getting a workout weeding the community garden. The Voortman boys, Tristan and Liam, patrolled the town looking for garbage, Michel Griesner and Carol Davis dusted the Knights Ferry Museum, and the Orange Blossom 4H and Rainbow Girls dedicated their time to the community garden. Love Knights Ferry coordinator, Heather Voortman was really pleased with the turnout and effort by all. Be on the look-out for the fall clean up before the Pumpkin Roll!

Unfortunately, the Civil War Reenactments and Community Club spaghetti dinner have been canceled. The American Civil War Association (ACWA), the group who put on the reenactments and the Community Club were notified that the Army Corps decided it was in the best interest of the public to cancel this year’s reenactment. We will miss the reenactors walking through town and the loud canon booms but we look forward to next year’s reenactments!

The Rebekahs also had to cancel their St. Patrick’s Day dinner on March 14 as recommendation from the Health Department.
