A big round of applause goes out to Dakota Voortman on her act of kindness. She baked cookies and took them down to the river where the family of the boy missing in the river was holding watch. Way to go Dakota!

Pat Ramont Johnson is proud of her boys! Dr. Sam Johnson was promoted as a research scientist for Hughes Research Laboratory. Her son Will was practicing helicopter maneuvers off the Oregon Coast when a rescue was called in and they were the closest. A person on a 50-foot commercial charter vessel needed to go to the hospital and Will and his crew plucked him off the boat and took him inland.

Wendy Feichter has an exciting May. She had a surprise 60th birthday party with her Dad coming from Colorado, her Mom from Idaho and two brothers from Oregon along with family and friends. Then Wendy went on a National Geographic Tour of Peru. She spent 10 days exploring Lima, Machu Picu and Sacred Valley led by professors of Biology and Archeology at the University. She learned about how they freeze dried food and how they spun and wove wood into cloth. It was a great learning trip.
