Jim Boyer’s graveside service was very touching. Jim’s friends and family gathered around his gravesite to remember Jim’s wonderful life. The weather was pleasant and a small band played a few upbeat songs bringing smiles to many in attendance.

Knights Ferry lost another important person in town last week. Benny Cassinetto passed away on September 25th. Benny is known for throwing the best parties, his caves, his movie career, and of course, wine. I would often see Benny driving around town or being chauffeured in his grey minivan or golf cart!

We had a random power outage for about 20 minutes in the early morning of September 28th! The cause is still unknown.

The Community Club’s 100th birthday party was a lot of fun and included a little bit of rain in the middle of the party! The music was awesome and it carried down Main Street into the night. The Club offered dessert and drinks to the guests and many people purchased pulled pork and homemade brat sandwiches for dinner. Club members organized a table of the Clubhouse’s history with newspaper articles and typed up pamphlets. Mabel Emart and Ella Bach Sisson and Ben Sisson were active in organizing the Club way back in 1923 with their descendants carrying on the Club’s traditions today! Mabel is the great, great grandmother of Lisa Frymire Dolling who acts as the Club’s treasurer. Ella and Ben Sisson were the grandparents of Carol Davis and Gordon Griesner. Carol attends the meetings as an active member and as a Club Trustee and Gordon’s daughter, Tracy Griesner is chairman of the annual Pumpkin Roll event. The Clubhouse Trustees are Carol Davis, Fred Dolling, and Linda Morris.
