Happy New Year! The new year brings so much potential for Knights Ferry. Start the new year by attending a Water Board meeting, Miller’s Hall meeting, Municipal Advisory Council (MAC) meeting, and/or East Stanislaus Fire Safe Council meeting. You might be surprised to hear we even have a Cemetery Board that meets! We even have social clubs including the Garden Club, Community Club, and a newly founded Chess Club to name a few!

We had quite a bit of rain over the weekend and the forecast shows more rain this week. Check on your friends at the bottom of the hill on Main Street!

As of December 30, 2022, the Covered Bridge will temporarily be closed for extensive repairs. A structural analysis of the bridge revealed significant wood deterioration that could jeopardize bridge stability. The Army Corps of Engineers has prioritized funding and staff is quickly pursuing contracts for design and construction for repairs. One significant barrier is the limited number of contractors who have experience and continue to work on large wood covered bridges like the Covered Bridge. It is very special to Knights Ferry and it is important to find the right contractors and engineers to repair our little piece of history!
As of January 1, 2023, all day use fees for Sacramento District recreation areas including Knights Ferry will increase from $5.00 to $10.00. The price increase is due to the increased cost of recreation facility maintenance. Please spread the word to all those who plan to park at the river park parking lots.
