Homecoming Festivities Slated For OHS Mustangs

It will be Oakdale vs. Kimball on Friday night, Jan. 28 for the 2022 Winter Homecoming ‘Game of the Century’ and the evening will include the crowning of new royalty.

There are dress up days being observed all week for Winter Homecoming at the high school. Monday was the 1920s, The Roaring Mustangs and Tuesday was the 1950s, Diner Days with the Stang.

The 1970s take center stage on Wednesday, as the Mustangs Hit the Disco and Thursday will be Light It Up, Mustangs! day in celebration of the 1980s.

On Friday, students will get into school spirit as the boys basketball teams prepare for the ‘The Game of the Century” against the Valley Oak League rival Jaguars.

Nominees for Homecoming Queen and Princess, Homecoming King and Prince were previously announced and those selected as the new royals will receive their crowns in between the JV and varsity boys games on Friday night in the OHS gym, the Mustang Arena.

Queen Candidates are: Brooklyn Gonzalez, Stephanie Pantoja Lopez, Breanna Guillermo, Jessica Birchall, Kylie Nunes.

Princess hopefuls include: Holly Hixon, Aubrie Hibdon, Ella Cummins, Jaidyn Holt, Avery Stueve.

King Candidates this year are: Mickey Merzon, Tyler Cooley, Dax Daley, Cole Wright, Caleb Cavanaugh.

Vying for the title of Prince are: Gideon Gerber, Carson Lamb, Jacob Kindrick, Jackson Gilton, Spence Ballard.

Crowning ceremonies are expected to begin about 7:15 p.m.
