Modesto and Stanislaus Consolidated Fire crews assisted Cal Fire in containing and extinguishing a 45-acre vegetation fire at Knights Ferry near the covered bridge on Thursday. No structures were damaged and no injuries reported. Here, the Cal Fire tanker drops fire retardant on the scene, with the initial reports of the fire coming in shortly before 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 4. The CHP was also requested to respond to assist with traffic control.
