The search is over for a new Superintendent for the Oakdale Joint Unified School District and the Board of Trustees didn’t have to look too far. Current Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources Marc Malone was tapped to fill the Superintendent position after a comprehensive search and two full days of interviews.

“Simply stated, a comprehensive search and interview process was always foremost in the minds of the trustees,” said Board President Rick W. Jones. “The interview process was arduous and fair, with top-quality candidates applying. It was unequivocally clear that Marc Malone truly earned the Superintendent’s position.”

Current Superintendent Fred Rich added that Malone “has been an outstanding employee of Oakdale Schools for 26 years and has given excellent service to Oakdale Joint Unified School District…”

Malone started as a classroom teacher in Biology and Physical Education in 1985 at Oakdale High School. His responsibilities continuously increased over the years serving as a department chairperson and then as an administrator for alternative education, the high school and junior high school. He was promoted to the district office in 2008 as an Assistant Superintendent.
