This Saturday, Oct. 31 is Halloween and officials with the City of Oakdale are reminding residents that the city is hosting its Annual Halloween Parade and Festival downtown. Hours for the event are 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., kicking off with a parade. Families are encouraged to join the fun, lining up at the Youth Building at the corner of West H Street and Gilbert Avenue at 1 p.m., then walking along West G Street for the parade route, ending at the Gene Bianchi Community Center Plaza on South Second Avenue.
The free, family-friendly event will also feature games for kids, a costume contest, free food, and the opportunity to take a family picture at the photo booth, all put on by community partners working in cooperation with the city.
With festivities wrapping up at 3 p.m., organizers said that makes it a perfect time to spend the rest of the evening with family and friends and go trick-or-treating. All ages are encouraged to get their costumes ready and join the fun in Oakdale on Halloween.
