A six-month investigation of a gang assault that has led to several arrests of gang members as well as a Jan. 12 sweep that involved over 40 officers from six agencies, has resulted in two additional suspects surrendering to police.

Oakdale Police Sergeant Joseph Carrillo said Connie Rodriquez, 31, of Oakdale, surrendered to Oakdale authorities on Tuesday, Feb. 3 regarding a $500,000 arrest warrant charging her with felony violations of assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault, and gang enhancements.

Adan F. Rangel, 26, of Oakdale, was wanted for assault with a deadly weapon and aggravated assault and earlier turned himself in to police, on Thursday, Jan. 15. He was booked for the felony charges along with a gang enhancement charge and has since bailed from custody.

The case stems from an Aug. 31, 2014 assault where Norteno gang members attacked four citizens in the 500 block of North Fifth Avenue in Oakdale. Two of the suspects from the incident were reportedly armed with metal knuckles during the attack.

The victims from the violence suffered various serious injuries including two of the victims sustaining orbital socket fractures according to Carrillo.

Since that time, the Oakdale Police Department received additional reports of assaults involving Norteno gang members, including a Dec. 10, 2014 gang related shooting that occurred again in the 500 block of North Fifth.

During their investigation, Oakdale detectives obtained felony gang-related assault arrest warrants for 10 of the suspects in the cases.

On Dec. 24, 2014, Lance Reyes, 19, of Oakdale was arrested during a traffic stop in relation to that case. Gregory Erickson, 19, of Oakdale was a passenger in the vehicle with Reyes.

Two guns were recovered from inside the vehicle. One of the guns was identified as the weapon used during the Dec. 10 shooting. Police state Erickson and Reyes are both validated Norteno gang members in the city.

On the morning of Jan. 12, 40 law enforcement personnel, including SWAT teams and officers from the Oakdale Police, Ceres Police, Turlock Police, and Stanislaus Sheriff’s departments along with Stanislaus County probation officers and agents from the Central Valley Gang Task Force simultaneously converged on four locations in the city due to increased gang activity. A fifth location was searched later in the day.

During the searches Dominique Ahmad Walker, 23, of Oakdale and Gerardo Perez Jr., 24, of Oakdale, both validated Norteno gang members of Oakdale, were arrested pursuant to their warrants in the Aug. 31 incident.

Carrillo said several individuals are still outstanding and are wanted in this case.

Oscar Rangel, 28; Jordan Garcia, 24; Jeremy Joseph Wooldridge, 21; Rigoberto Martinez Picos Jr., 21; Stephen Daniel Johnson IV, 19, and Juan Carlos Valencia Perez, 21, are all validated Norteno gang members of Oakdale, and all are wanted for felony gang related assault charges with half-million dollar arrest warrants for each suspect.
