Oakdale-Riverbank Fire Calls 6-15-22

Local fire crews from Modesto Fire Department and Stanislaus Consolidated, along with CalFire, were on scene of an early afternoon vegetation fire that detoured traffic briefly on Saturday, June 11. The following is a listing of some of the local calls for service involving the Modesto Fire Department, which staffs Stations 27, 28, 29 and 30 in Oakdale, Knights Ferry and Valley Home; and the Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Department, covering the Riverbank area.

Calls were logged during the time period of Tuesday, June 7 through Monday, June 13. Days not listed had no reports of significant incidents in this area.

 

MONDAY, JUNE 13

9:14 p.m. – MST units assisted CalFire with a vegetation fire near the covered bridge in the community of Knights Ferry. Provided a water tender to support their operation.

 

SUNDAY, JUNE 12

8 a.m. – Battalion Chief 5 attended morning briefing for Olive Incident. CalFire had (3) Engines, (1) hand crew, and a water tender for the operational period. No needs from local fire agencies.

10:45 p.m. – Water Rescue 28, WR-29, Sheriff’s Office Air 101, and B-5 responded to Woodward Reservoir for two missing jet skiers. WR-28 started searching. Air 101 located missing skiers after 30 minutes. WR-28 brought them back to shore. No injuries reported.

 

SATURDAY, JUNE 11

MST Crews rotated through Battalion Drills. Training focused on basement fires.

1:16 p.m. – MST crews from Oakdale and Stanislaus Consolidated responded with CalFire to Orange Blossom for a vegetation fire. Olive Incident Command was established on a vegetation fire with a moderate rate of spread. Unified command was established and the fire was eventually contained to 25 acres. MST crews were released and CalFire remained on scene. No structures were involved.

 

FRIDAY, JUNE 10

Crews assisted during the 23rd Annual American Graffiti Classic Car Parade.

 

THURSDAY, JUNE 9

1:29 a.m. – Units responded to a small vegetation fire on Highway 108. Crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire and contain it to a small area along the roadway.

Crews continued training with the probationary firefighters preparing for the upcoming seven-month test.

 

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 8

Crews finished the last day of training burns and vegetation management in the Tuolumne River Regional Park. Crews worked throughout the day burning vegetation and then crews monitored the area for most of the evening.

 

TUESDAY, JUNE 7

Fuel reductions at Tuolumne River Regional Park started and will continue throughout the week.
