Library Activities

Plan ahead for a special “Read To A Dog” event coming on Tuesday, Feb. 26, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Oakdale Library, 151 S. First Ave. This unique program gives children a relaxed non-judgmental atmosphere to practice reading aloud. Drop by the Library and read to a certified therapy dog. No sign-ups are necessary in this program designed for independent readers up to age 12. Books are provided or child can bring their favorite. The dogs seem pretty happy with any child’s choice. And, on the same day, Tuesday, Feb. 26 at 11:30 a.m., the local branch will be hosting its ongoing Oakdale Library Book Club for adults. Join in to meet, mingle, and chat with other literature lovers. Read and discover new books, genres, and authors. This month’s selection will be “The Last Lecture.” Stop by the Library to sign out a copy, then join in for a great discussion. New members are always welcome.
