Astoria Executive Director Hernandez earns Agemark recognition

Jackie Hernandez was named Agemark Senior Living’s Executive Director of the Year for 2023 at an annual award ceremony held recently in Omaha.

Jackie Hernandez leads Astoria Senior Living and Memory Care in Oakdale, California. After beginning her career in recreation for the City of Riverbank, Hernandez shifted to senior living, working first as an activity director, before taking on an administrative assistant role at Astoria. After several years in that position, she earned the title of Executive Director in July 2021. Since then, she has led a dedicated team of professionals at Astoria in Oakdale. Hernandez is active in the City of Oakdale and serves as a Chamber of Commerce board member. Astoria was named the Oakdale Chamber’s Business of the Year for 2022.

“I am honored to be selected as Director of the Year. I truly work for the greatest senior living company and I’m so thankful for everyone at Agemark who took a chance and believed in me,” Hernandez said. “I am so thankful to have the opportunity to pursue something I’m so passionate about. I’m grateful for those who have mentored, guided, and supported me through challenging situations in this role as well as the amazing team at Astoria.”

Agemark’s Executive Directors of the Year earn the honor based on a combination of resident, family and staff satisfaction metrics, markers for operational excellence, along with occupancy, budget, and financial achievement.

The Astoria leadership team includes Mary Anne Damasco, Isabel Gutierrez, Margarita Guizar, Marisol Hernandez, and Lucia Osorio. Additionally, Astoria boasts a talented team of exceptional caregivers, many of whom are long-term employees of the community.
