Annual Candlelight Vigil Honors, Remembers Victims

The Stanislaus County District Attorney’s Office Victim Services Program will sponsor the 24th Annual Homicide Victims’ Candlelight Vigil on Thursday, Dec. 9, 2021. Due to COVID-19 and concerns about public gatherings, this year’s ceremony will be different than years past. Three separate activities have been designed to honor those lost.

Family members were invited to come to the District Attorney’s office Monday through Wednesday, Dec. 6 through 8, to place their own ornament on the victims’ memorial tree and pick up a keepsake for 2021. There will be a live stream candle lighting on Thursday, Dec. 9 at 6 p.m. with special musical presentations and a virtual Candlelight Vigil and Memorial Video will be available for viewing on the Stanislaus County District Attorney’s YouTube Channel. The virtual Candlelight Vigil and related content can be found by following this link: https://bit.ly/StanDAYouTube

While District Attorney and Victim Services Program staff members are disappointed that they cannot bring everyone together, they hope these programs will serve to honor and celebrate the memory of loved ones who were lost in an act of violence. All are encouraged to join in for the streaming event and light a candle in remembrance.
