The Modesto Junior College Civic Engagement Project (CEP) invites the community to a screening of the documentary film ‘Drone’ on Thursday, Nov. 17, at 7 p.m. in Forum 110 on MJC’s East Campus, 435 College Ave., Modesto. The free event is part of the CEP Fall Film and Lecture Series. Campus parking is available for $2 in student parking lots.

The use of military drones has become one of the biggest controversies in modern warfare and this film takes a critical look at the issue from a number of angles. The documentary argues that drones have come to represent a new kind of battlefield, where civilians in strike zones live in constant fear but can seem like little more than pixels in a video game to those carrying out remote-controlled attacks.

Following the film there will be a facilitated discussion.
