Fall Prevention, Healthy Aging Summit Scheduled

Emanuel Medical Center is hosting a series of free Healthy Living Education Series featuring sessions on cancer care, obesity, reducing your risk for falls, heart health and preventing diabetes.

The Healthy Aging Association in partnership with the Area Agency on Aging and Kaiser Permanente present the 16th annual Healthy Aging and Fall Prevention Summit. This free event, scheduled on Friday, Oct. 19 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., is for older adults and their caregivers and will offer information to older adults on resources available to help them live longer and healthier lives. The event will be hosted at the Modesto Centre Plaza, at 10th and K streets, Modesto.

There will be free health screenings for diabetes and cholesterol (need to fast prior), hypertension, bone density, depression, foot care, skin health, vision and peripheral varicose disease. There will also be Drop the Drugs, senior fitness testing, home modification displays and much more.
