Oak Grove Regional Park in Stockton will be the site for a special Astronomy in the Park night on Saturday, Oct. 1.
Additional events are planned Oct. 29 and Dec. 3.
The Oct. 1 event begins at 6:45 p.m. and will feature the opportunity to view Star Cluster in Hercules, Dumbbell Nebula. The park is at I-5 and Eight Mile Road in Stockton. There is a $6 cash parking fee but the event itself is free to attend. It is presented by the Stockton Astronomical Society, Oak Grove Docent Council and San Joaquin County Parks. You can view the planets through giant telescopes after sunset.
On Saturday, Oct. 29 the astronomy program begins at 6 p.m., featuring the chance to view Mercury, Venus and the Andromeda Galaxy. On Saturday, Dec. 3 at 4:45 p.m., view Jupiter, Mars and Triangulum Galaxy.
