Winter sports have kicked off the preseason campaign in Oakdale. The Mustang varsity basketball team hosted Escalon for a non-league contest on Saturday, Dec. 7 in the OHS gym. Oakdale welcomed the Cougars to town and the host team walked off the court with a 68-52 win. Oakdale has also defeated Tokay, 57-41 while losing to Hughson, 60-57 this preseason. Meanwhile, girls soccer has started its preseason schedule as well, with the Oakdale JV and varsity girls taking on visiting Riverbank in a game this past week.
