Trout Plant Conducted At Oak Grove Regional Park

San Joaquin County Parks and Recreation announced that Oak Grove Regional Park has received a 1,000-pound plant of Rainbow Trout thanks to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife.

The plant is part of the state’s Fishing In The City program. Kids age 15 years and younger fish for free at Oak Grove’s 10-acre lake, a $5 fishing permit fee and valid California fishing license are required for those 16 years of age or older (all state Fish and Game laws apply). Vehicle entry fee is $6cash.

The county will plant 2,000 pounds of Rainbow Trout prior to the Bob McMillen Memorial Fishing Tournament, slated for Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Oak Grove. Open to all ages, the tournament will feature prizes for top winners in each category. Gates open at 6:15 a.m.
