Soccer Honors Handed Out For 2019-20 Campaign

The 2019-2020 All-Valley Oak League Honors were handed out recently for both boys and girls soccer.

For the Oakdale High School varsity girls team, Victoria Rojas, Kendra Branch, Ruby Fink and Ximena Vigil all made Second Team honors. Maquel Besson and Jade Manriquez both received Honorable Mention.

Oakdale boys Brandon Martinez, Caden Frazee and Caleb McDonald all made First Team honors. Riley Blount made Second Team honors and Isaac Valero, Alfie Harris and Fernando Blanco earned Honorable Mention.

Members of the Oakdale boys soccer program also gathered recently for the presentation of the annual end of the season awards. Junior varsity awards went to Ryan Krause and Carter Sturtevant for Best Offensive Players. Lex Bairos and Deegan Sweet won Best Defensive Players. Oscar Barajas won Team Captain. Chris Diaz was named Most Improved and Alfredo Fernandez took home Most Valuable Player honors.

Varsity boys honorees were Caleb McDonald as Most Valuable Player, while Caden Frazee received Best Offensive Player. Brandon Martinez, Isaac Valero and Riley Blount were winners for Best Defensive Player. Coaches Award went to Alfie Harris and Fernando Blanco. Most Improved went to Sergio Millard.
