OHS Athletes Return To Fall Sports Venues

This past week the student athletes at Oakdale High School returned to both school as well as their sports practice facilities. Coaches and athletes began practice on Monday, Aug. 5. Girls tennis, volleyball, boys and girls water polo, cross country, football, cheerleaders and Lady Mustang golfers all reported for practice for the upcoming season.

Most programs will have scrimmages in the upcoming days with the regular season starting in the beginning of September.

On Saturday, Aug. 17 the volleyball team will head to Modesto to take part in the Round Robin at Beyer High School, the scrimmage is scheduled for 9 a.m., while Oakdale’s football teams head to Tracy for a scrimmage that begins at 10 a.m.

On Tuesday, Aug. 20 the girls golf team will host Gregori in non-conference action. Tee time is scheduled for 3 p.m.

The following day, Wednesday, Aug. 21 the girls tennis team heads to Turlock High School to face the Bulldogs in a scrimmage that begins at 3 p.m.

Thursday, Aug. 22 the freshman football team hosts Sonora in the preseason opener. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.

Friday, Aug. 23 the cross country runners lace up their shoes for the annual Oakdale Red/Gold Fox Trot that is scheduled for 4 p.m. That same night the football players head to Sonora to take on the Wildcats in the preseason opener. Wrapping up the week will be the water polo program as they host the Oakdale scrimmage scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
