Playing in triple digit heat, the Oakdale 8U All-Star girls were as hot as the weather during their recent appearance in the Newman 8U coach pitch tournament.
The girls played one game Friday night, June 30; two contests on Saturday, July 1 and wrapped up the successful tourney with two games on Sunday, July 2.
They played outstanding ball all around, capturing championship honors in the tournament as they went undefeated in their five games.
Players on the roster, with names spelled as provided, include: Chloe Provost, Jayden Brooks, BreAnne McGhee, Gaby Bowers, Taylor Blevins, Bree Johnson, Paislie DeRuiter, Natalya Erdman, Paisley Norwood, Avery Vejar, Kora Hankins, Paislee Garrison, Charlotte Schutte and Blayke Lopez.
Head Coach for the team is Joseph Johnson, with assistants Brett Vejar, Ashley Blevins and Coryna Johnson.
The coaches noted that Paislee Garrison had a monster game at the plate during the tournament, in which she had both a grand slam and a home run; Gaby Bowers was outstanding at first base and up and down the lineup, all the girls were on fire at the plate.
