Mustang Golfers Repeat As VOL Champs

For the second consecutive season the Oakdale High School boys golf team has won the Valley Oak League. With a convincing win in the Valley Oak League tourney number four at Dryden Park Golf Course in Modesto, Oakdale won the 2019 Valley Oak League Championship. On the day Oakdale shot a 405, which was 54 strokes better than second place East Union. Leading the way for the Mustangs was sophomore Ryan Meyer who shot a 67 on the par 72 course. This is the third straight Valley Oak League tournament where Meyer has shot under par. Senior Tristan Jaramillo shot a 74. Ryan Wheatley shot 80 with Calvin Reed just behind him at 81. Rounding out the day were Grant Weber at 103 and Jordan Goodman at 110.

“I’m proud of the boys for their hard work and dedication,” said Coach Lee McGee.

Oakdale is 4-0 in Valley Oak League tournaments and on Monday, April 29 the team will return to action for the 2019 Valley Oak League Championship Tournament to decide who will advance in the playoffs. The tournament is scheduled for 9 a.m. at Brookside Country Club in Stockton.
