Tough Times Continue For Lady Mustang Soccer
soccerball1

With rain falling from the darkened sky, and plenty of mud puddles on the field, the Oakdale Lady Mustangs played their lone soccer game of the week on Wednesday night, Jan. 4. It had been three weeks since the girls took the field due to the holiday break. The girls hosted Sierra and things took a bad turn for Oakdale early as Sierra jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the first half. Sierra found the net three more times in the second half capping off the 11-0 home loss for Oakdale.

“The girls are staying positive and trying to build on things as a team,” first year varsity coach Grace Fernandes said.

Oakdale (2-7, 0-2) have three games this week and are looking to get back on track. The girls hosted Lathrop (1-4, 1-2) on Tuesday night with the game scheduled to be played at The Corral due to poor field conditions on the team’s normal field.

Oakdale will travel to take on Weston Ranch Thursday night, Jan. 12 with the game scheduled for 5:30 p.m. The varsity girls are then set to host Kimball on Tuesday, Jan. 17.

JUNIOR VARSITY

Oakdale was scheduled to host Lathrop’s JV on Tuesday, Jan. 10 inside The Corral following The Leader’s press time. The young Lady Mustangs will then travel to Weston Ranch on Thursday night to take on the Cougars. Game time is set for 4 p.m.
