Scrimmages Get Season Started For Oakdale Mustangs

The fall sports season for Oakdale High School has arrived. This past weekend the football team took the field against visiting Tracy and Saturday morning the volleyball girls were playing in the gym. This week the preseason continues for the Mustang athletic programs.

 

FOOTBALL - This Thursday night, Aug. 19 the freshman team travels to face Sonora at 6 p.m.

On Friday night, Aug. 20 the Wildcats come to town with junior varsity scheduled for 5 p.m. and varsity at 7 p.m.

 

VOLLEYBALL - Scrimmage action continues for the girls as they host Waterford on Thursday night, Aug. 19 with freshmen taking the court at 4 p.m., followed by the junior varsity at 5 p.m. and varsity scheduled for 7 p.m. The team’s first preseason match is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 23 on the road against Golden Valley. This past Saturday’s round robin scrimmage in the OHS gym saw teams battling it out at all levels, with Golden Valley, Escalon, Beyer and Oakdale all taking part.

 

GIRLS GOLF- Oakdale was to take on Enochs in a scrimmage on Wednesday, Aug. 18 and open the season Monday, Aug. 30 with a trip to the Yellowjacket Invitational in Hilmar.

 

GIRLS TENNIS - The team is still off but opens the season on Sept. 7 at home against East Union.

 

WATER POLO - Both boys and girls jump in the pool later this month beginning on Tuesday, Aug. 31 when they travel to take on Lincoln at 3:30 p.m.
