The 2017 boys golf season has come to a close. Oakdale placed third in the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Division III Golf Tournament at Yolo Fliers Country Club in Woodland. The tournament took place on Monday, May 8 where Oakdale shot a team 407, one stroke behind second place Rio Americano. Had Oakdale placed in the top two they would have moved on to compete in the Masters at Spanos Park Golf Course.

For Oakdale, David Myrtakis shot 78 on the par 72 course to lead the team. Max Moore came in second for Oakdale at 80. Calvin Reed and Josh Barrera each shot an 81. Tristian Jaramillo shot 87 and rounding out the day was Zack Tamburrino at 88.

This is the second heartbreaking defeat for Oakdale in as many weeks as they earlier came up just one stroke shy of claiming the Valley Oak League title at the VOL Tournament.
