Junior Olympics Boxing Coming To Oakdale

Oakdale High School will welcome in some exciting young boxers on Saturday and Sunday, April 21 and 22.

That’s when young talents from all around California will be competing in the 2018 Central California Association, LBC 46 USA Boxing Junior Olympics. More than 20 bouts are scheduled on Saturday, beginning at 10 a.m. The local Boxing Development Center is hosting the event.

Two categories of boxers will compete; novice boxers who have had ten bouts or less, and open division which is for the more advanced and experienced boxers. The qualifiers from these tournaments will advance to the State championship for a chance to qualify to be an official representative of team USA. Boxers from the age of 16 and under will be eligible to compete.

Admission to the event is $10 a day. Along with boxing action, there will be drawings featuring autographed memorabilia, 50/50 raffle, special guests and more. For more information on the event and The Boxing Development Center log onto the center’s website at theboxingdc.com.
