Until Oct. 3, Sonora High’s playoff bound girls golf team had only been defeated by unbeaten league champs, East Union. Oakdale put an end to that stanza by edging the Wildcats in a stunning 272-284 Lady Mustang win at the Oakdale Golf and Country Club.

Four OHS golfers landed personal best scores at the match and Jenna Heaton stole the medalist honor as Oakdale left their home course with the win. Oakdale would go on to deliver another strong performance during a 273-221 loss to East Union on Oct. 11. A pair of 46 stroke performances from Heaton and Dylanie Donahue led the way.

The golfers earn a collective Athlete of the Week nod for their win over Sonora.
