The 48th Annual Oakdale Rotary Classic boys basketball tournament is set for three days next week at Oakdale High School.

Oakdale’s junior varsity and varsity boys will be in action starting Wednesday, Dec. 27 continuing through Friday, Dec. 29 with a number of teams coming in for the annual tournament.

Eight games will be played on Wednesday beginning at 9:30 a.m. when Los Banos takes on Pitman in junior varsity action. Argonaut will take on Downey at 11 a.m. followed by Ripon Christian and Hughson at 12:30 p.m. In the junior varsity finale on opening day, Oakdale will take the court at 2 p.m. as they face off with Davis. Regardless of the outcome of their opening round contest, Oakdale will return to play on Thursday, Dec. 28 to take on either Ripon Christian or Hughson at 2 p.m.

In varsity action eight teams will compete over three days. On Wednesday, Hughson opens up the afternoon against Downey at 3:30 p.m. Patterson and Pitman square off at 5 p.m. Davis will take on Ripon Christian at 6:30 p.m. and in the night cap, Los Banos will take on Oakdale. The Mustangs will then battle either Davis or Ripon Christian on Thursday evening at 8 p.m.

Wednesday will be the third annual Flannel Night where everyone is encouraged to wear flannel attire in support of the team. It may be cold outside but Thursday night will be Hawaiian Night during the tournament inside the gym.
