Golfers Place First At Crosstown Cup

Monday, March 18 the Oakdale High School boys golf team competed in The 2019 Crosstown Cup. This 15-team tournament took first place at Turlock Golf and Country Club. Oakdale finished with a team score of 138 on the day and Ripon Christian placed second at 143. St. Mary’s placed third at 144.

Each team was broken up into threesomes. Oakdale’s number one team consisted of Calvin Reed, Tristan Jaramillo and Ryan Meyer. The team shot 65 on the day. The second Oakdale team consisted of a trio of freshmen; Ryan Wheatley, Grant Weber and Jordan Goodman who finished the day with a score of 73.

So far, the 2019 season has been kind to the Mustangs as they have already won the first two Valley Oak League tournaments, and also defeated Sonora in non-league play.

On Monday, March 25 the boys were scheduled to host the 2019 Oakdale Cup, an 18-hole tournament featuring schools from across the section. On Wednesday, March 27 the Mustangs will travel to Manteca Park Golf Course to play in the third VOL tournament of the season. This will be an 18-hole tournament that is scheduled for 10:30 a.m.
