Oakdale High School baseball players had a packed schedule this summer, staying on the diamond after school was out for the year.
Ball players from all three levels of the baseball program participated in summer tournaments. The varsity team went 7-0 and won both of the tournaments they played. Those suiting up for the team included Max Moore, Alex Daoud, Jacob Solorio, Nathan Womack, Jacob Elting and Brett Maddock amongst others. All of the listed players had multiple hits in the tournaments and helped carry the summer squad to victory. Their first place finishes came at Downey High School and Enochs High School. The lower level players, from the freshman and JV programs, went 7-1 and took first place in a tournament at Gregori.
“Overall we were 14-1 (as a group) on the summer. It was extremely productive and our coaching staff was able to get a good idea of what our future season will look like,” said varsity head coach Chris Henry.
Also this summer Oakdale was represented at the 2018 Modesto Sunrise Rotary High School All-Star Game in Turlock. Making the trip were Jacob Solorio, Max Moore, Dylan Wright and Alex Daoud.
