Dear Editor,

I would like to thank the Oakdale Sports Boosters for the award they gave our father at the Oakdale/Sonora football game.

The honor and recognition that this club bestowed upon our father, Cecil Muniain, thrilled our entire family. However, most of all, it is a major shining moment for our dad. He has spent many years enjoying other people’s children playing football on behalf of our community. It has brought him tremendous pleasure, year after year.

Many times when a student in my classroom would mention their brother or cousin played for Oakdale High, I would go to my classroom phone and introduce the student to my father. He would then mention a personal detail about the playing skill of their relative. This was quite a special moment for my student!

This organization is very special and valuable in bringing all these moments full circle to me personally. Oakdale Sports Boosters is a fabulous, caring, and compassionate group of individuals. Thank you for declaring our father, Cecil Muniain, as one of your stars!
