Victoria Jean Ransom Pimley, 85, passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2016, at her home in Oakdale CA. She was born on December 24, 1930, to Harold and Louise Bourget Ransom near Modesto CA on Granger Avenue. She was named after her Grandmother, Victoria Bourget. Victoria was raised in Oakdale with her two brothers, Kenneth and Edward Ransom. She graduated from Oakdale High School in 1949, where she met Gordon Pimley. They would later become husband and wife on April 7, 1951. Victoria worked for several years as a secretary at the Oakdale High School, beginning in 1950. She loved and spent many years traveling as well as enjoying camping trips with her family. She loved hosting Holidays and BBQ’s with her family. She belonged to a Birthday Group with several of her closest friends. They would meet once a month for lunch to celebrate birthdays and she always looked forward to it.
Victoria was a devoted Catholic. She was actively involved in the community; her favorite being a volunteer at the Oak Valley Hospital. She received a reward from the hospital for over 30 years of volunteer service. She was also a member of the Oakdale Golf and Country Club, and in her younger years was an avid golfer. Her greatest love, however, was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren; they never failed to put a smile on her face.
Victoria is survived by her husband of 65 years, Gordon; three sons, Dave (Vicki) of Utah, Tom (Kelly) of Oakdale and Tim (girlfriend Cindy Murphy) of Oakdale; seven grandchildren, David (Gina) Pimley, Sara (Tim) Parola, Heather (Jeremy) Palmer, Daniel (Amelia) Pimley, Ryan (Loriann) Pimley, Marissa (Jef) Viss, and Kaitlyn Pimley; 10 great grandchildren, another due June 5th and four step great grandchildren; a brother Edward (Anne) Ransom, sister-in-law, Amy Ransom, sister-in-law June Taylor; five nieces and four nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold & Louise Ransom, her parents-in-law, Gordon & Francis Pimley and a brother, Kenneth Ransom. Victoria is also survived by her caregivers; Rosa Cardoso, Tammy Weathereal, Jessika Sutton, Beatrice Melgoza, Linda Soliece and Emily Sanders. These ladies worked endless hours and made sure that Victoria was extremely well taken care of and comfortable. The family is forever grateful. Services were held on Tuesday, May 17th, 2016.
