Thomas Everett Crom, 60, of Knights Ferry died Tuesday, Sept. 3 following a brief illness.

He was born in Escalon to Howard and Hazel Crom, the youngest of five siblings. He graduated from Escalon High School, and attended Modesto Junior College, and Delta College.

After 31 years of service at Canandaigua Winery, he and his wife Denise fulfilled their dream of opening The Barn Produce and Mercantile in Escalon in 2007.

A lifelong outdoorsman, he enjoyed camping, fishing, mushroom hunting, and frequent excursions to Pinecrest.

He was deeply loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Denise Crom of Knights Ferry; Bandit, Punkin, Lily; son, James Ripley; two brothers; and two sisters.
