Steven passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones at the age of 75. Steven leaves behind his loving wife of 50 years, Susan Diestsch Hallert, three children: Scott, Kimberly (Robert) and Steven Matthew (Kristie), six grandchildren: Sean, Sara Bennett, Cody (Cheyenne), April, Tanner and Emily Bennett, one great-granddaughter, Kyra Hallert, brothers, Richard (Kathleen) and David (Jane) and many nieces, nephews and beloved friends. Steven resided in San Lorenzo for 24 years before relocating to Oakdale upon his retirement from the Oakland Fire Department in 1993. He enjoyed working for and supporting the Oakland Athletics, traveling, Disneyland and most of all his family. Steven often said, “Disneyland, it’s in the Hallert’s blood.” His life will be celebrated with family and friends on September 5, 2015.
