Sharon Eyestone Lamb passed away peacefully on May 7, 2016 in Oakdale at the age of 87. Sharon was born on August 20, 1929 in Wichita, Kansas to Shirley and Ruth Eyestone. The family lived on a farm but attended church in Wichita. During high school, she decided to sing in the church choir, and met a handsome young man named Bill. Although they attended rival high schools, they dated steadily until graduation. After graduation, Bill joined the Marine Corps, and Sharon went to Kansas State College. Both came home for Thanksgiving and decided to get married the day following Christmas, 1948. Sharon’s mother made the wedding dress, and Bill wore his dress blues. The two were married for 67 years and in love as much as ever at the time of her passing.
Sharon leaves behind her husband, William Lamb, her children, Bonnie Lamb of Jerico Springs, MO, Debi Singletary of Cabazon, CA, Dayna Heldenbrand of Colorado Springs, CO, and Rex Lamb of Escalon, CA. Sharon also leaves behind her grandchildren, Joshua Pichelmann, Michelle Ruiz, Rebecca Pichelmann, Joel Bland, Amy Huff, Zachary Maldonado, Savannah McCormack, Amanda Baltrami, Rachel Lamb, Clayton Lamb and Christine Lamb, along with nine great grandchildren. Sharon is preceded in death by her brother, Fred Eyestone. Arrangements have been entrusted to Deegan Funeral Chapel. A celebration of her life will be set for a later date.
