Pearl Mildred Hickman, 92, died Tuesday, March 15 at Laurel Crest Manor, Oakdale.

She was born in Treat, Arkansas. She married Marion Hickman and relocated to California.

Mrs. Hickman had a career in the restaurant business. She opened the Orange Café in the 1950s and later opened the Busy Bee Café with her sister Floy Welch. She was known to serve the best biscuits and gravy in town.

She spent her life dedicated to her family and the Church of Christ.

She is survived by her sons, Perry (Maria) Hickman, Donald (Marlene) Hickman; daughter, Anita (Jim) Theiler; sister, EulaJean Haynes; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Hickman; parents, Alex and Stella Ross; brothers, Haskell Ross, Verlon Ross; and sisters, Bessie Elmore, Jewel Copeland, and Floy Welch.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 24 at Oakdale Memorial Chapel. Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 25 at the Oakdale Church of Christ on Lee Avenue.
