Oscar (Mario) 74 of Oakdale passed away Friday afternoon March 6th at Memorial Medical Center.  Mario was a loving husband, father, brother and friend.
   He was born August 27th 1940 in Dr. Coss Mexico, to the late Solomon and Trinidad Peña.  Mario came to the United States at the age of 8 to begin his American dream.  Mario married the love of his life, Graciela Suarez, January 1966. They both built a wonderful life and were blessed with four children, Oscar Peña (Nicole), Noe Peña (Heather), Melissa Peña Flores (Roy), and Miguel Peña (Traci).  They were then blessed with ten grandchildren, Rylie Peña, Alex Peña, Owen Peña, Lucas Flores, Marina Flores, Ashton Peña, Zachery Peña, Christopher Peña, Anthony Peña, Angelo Peña.
   Mario started and finished his 47 year career with Con Agra Foods in Oakdale (formerly Hunt Wesson Foods) where he was known by every member at the plant as a caring and giving man.  Mario spent his years in retirement enjoying all of his grandchildren’s sporting events, working on his ranch, and traveling to Las Vegas, Lake Tahoe, the Bahamas, and Texas for half the year to spend time with his brothers hunting and fishing.  Mario had a special interest in cars, going to yard and antique sales, playing slot machines, and restoring the homes he acquired over the years.            Mario became an American Citizen in 1980.  He will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts.
He is preceded in passing by his parents Solomon and Trinidad Peña, his Sister Ramonsita Peña, and Brother Miguel Peña.  Mario is survived by his wife Graciela Peña, four children, ten grandchildren, brothers Ernesto Peña of Oakdale, Juan Peña and Jose Peña of Texas, sisters Sylvia Peña of Texas, Bertha Martinez of Hollister, and many nephews and nieces.
   The  Viewing was held on Thursday March 12th, from 4:00pm-6:00pm, the Rosary  began immediately after the viewing 6:00pm at Oakdale Memorial Chapel 830 West F Street, Oakdale Ca.  The Mass Service was held Friday March 13th at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church 89 North Oak Avenue, 9:00am in Oakdale.  Flowers may be sent in remembrance to Oakdale Memorial Chapel.
