Oren Hollis Allen, Jr. was born January 13, 1931 in Lubbock, TX. He passed from this life May 10, 2016 in Rancho Cordova, CA. Oren was preceded in death by his parents Oren Hollis Allen, Sr. and Elsie (Story) Allen and his wife Koelle (Smith) Allen. He is survived by his brother Sidney Allen of Nashville, TN and by his five children Sheri Dyson of Modesto, CA, Art Allen of Pollock Pines, CA, Ed Allen of Sacramento, CA, Clay Allen of Carmichael, CA and Calvin Allen of Campobello, SC. Oren also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren as well as one niece and two nephews.
Oren served in both active duty and the reserves of the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean conflict from 1947-1956.
A service will be held for Oren on Saturday, May 21, 2016 beginning at 3 p.m. at the Church of Christ located at 6044 Sutter Ave., Carmichael, CA. A private interment with military honors will be held in Santa Nella, CA at the Veteran’s Cemetery on Monday, May 23, 2016.
