Michael Harley Mendoza, 45, died Thursday, April 25 at Doctor’s Medical Center. He was tragically struck by a vehicle on F Street in Oakdale while trying to save a stray dog in the middle of the road on April 22 and was medi-flighted to Doctor’s Medical Center.
He was a resident of Oakdale for more than two years.
Mr. Mendoza was known for his love of animals, nature, and children. He was always kind and loving, helpful, funny and uplifting, always smiling and laughing. He loved music and, number one, he loved the Lord.
He is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl Ann Mendoza of Oakdale; his children, Michael Allen Mendoza, Anthony James Mendoza, Jeremy Tyler Mendoza, Allysa Marie Mendoza; step-children, Samantha Ann McSweeney, Amanda Marie McSweeney, Ryan Jackson Lowry; siblings, Paul John Mendoza Jr., Donna Tabor; mother, Linda Gray; and several aunts, uncles, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Paul John Mendoza Sr.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 5 at the Oakdale Seventh Day Adventist Church, 1290 Walnut St.
