Mary Hensley, 83, died peacefully Friday, June 13 with her children by her side.

She was a recent resident of English Oaks Skilled Nursing Home in Modesto, and a longtime resident of Oakdale.

Mrs. Hensley’s creativity was expressed in her love for quilting, creating countless bedspreads and wall hangings decorating her home with many given away as unique personalized gifts enjoyed by all generations of her family. She also enjoyed winter trips to their second home in Palm Desert as well as RV-ing with her husband Bill, traveling throughout the West and Canada.

She was a devout Christian and a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Modesto.

The family extends a special thanks to her care-giver, Laura Robello of Modesto, and the staff of English Oaks.

She is survived by her children, Keith of Oakdale, Gary of Vacaville, and April Houck of Oakdale; brother, Ralph of Novato; granddaughters, Amanda, Laura, Stephanie, Kelly and Lindy; and great-grandchildren, Paige, Levi, Dellan, Delaney, Adelaide, Talitha, Lyla, and Jones.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Bill.

A memorial service was held Tuesday, June 24 at Calvary Lutheran Church, 547 Rose Ave., Modesto.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Calvary Lutheran Memorial Fund.
