Mark John Macedo, 66, returned to his heavenly home on December 5, 2017 after a lifetime battle with rheumatoid arthritis. His devotion to his family and firm belief in God supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace.
Mark was born to the late Albert and Alice Macedo on May 10, 1951 in Stockton, CA. He graduated from California State University, Sonoma with a degree in Geology in 1980. He married Vicetta Utley in 1980 and moved to Oakdale, CA. After moving to Oakdale, CA, he worked for many years as an environmental engineer.
Mark is survived by his son Manuel Macedo and daughter MaryAnn Macedo; his siblings Melissa Yamasaki (Larry Yamasaki), Marty Macedo, and Matt Macedo (Robbyn Macedo); his nephews and nieces and their children: Mikie Macedo; Ryan Yamasaki (Rachel) and his children Rayann, Reid and Rhett; Erica Segura (Joey) and her children Olivia, Jude, Addie, and Lucy; Jacob Macedo; and Katelynn Macedo. He is preceded in death by his father Albert; mother Alice; brother Mike; sister-in-law Barbara; and nephew Anthony, and numerous aunts and uncles.
Mark was an active and devoted parishioner and past Eucharistic Minister of St. Mary’s of the Annunciation Catholic Church in Oakdale. He was a Fourth Degree member and past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus.
A viewing will take place at Oakdale-Riverbank Memorial Chapel in Oakdale, CA on December 18, 2017 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. with a rosary following the viewing from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. The funeral will take place at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Oakdale on December 19, 2017 at 10 a.m., followed by a burial at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Escalon.
