LEONARD “DIDDY” HARRIS

Died of natural causes January 31, 2019 in Bakersfield, CA. Born January 9, 1939 in Oklahoma to father, Pearl B. Harris, and mother Laura L. Shatswell Harris.

Graduated from Oakdale High School in 1957. Diddy served in the US Army from 1958-1963 and was married to Catherine Zaborsky. He is survived by his loving children; son, Bruce Harris, daughter-in-law; Kim, daughter; Lenca Machado, grandchildren; Tiffany Friedlos, Jared Harris, Austin Harris, and his great granddaughter; his pride and joy, Emma Rose Friedlos. He is also survived by his sister, caretaker, and most importantly, his best friend; Shirley “Shuddy” Osborn. Leonard is also survived by many family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, and seven brothers and sisters.

Leonard was a man of many talents among things such as selling insurance and being self-employed. His greatest passions were his song writing, being a musician, first and foremost his grandchildren and great granddaughter. Diddy loved telling jokes, fishing, hunting, and family gatherings.

The family burial will be held March 1, at 2:30 p.m. in Santa Nella, at San Joaquin National Veterans Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held on March 2, at 2 p.m. at the Oakdale Sportsman Club. Everyone who would like to share in celebrating Leonard “Diddy” Harris is welcome.
