Jim passed in the arms of his son on Sept. 17. He was 77 years old. He will be dearly missed.
Jim never met a stranger and made friends wherever he went.
He was proud of the work he did for 30 years at Hunt-Wesson in Oakdale, CA, especially when Hunts felt like a family, not a huge corporation.
He was also proud of the volunteer work he did for the Red Cross, traveling to Louisiana helping to set up shelters and food banks for the ravaged city of New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.
He traveled from San Diego to New Jersey for many years, setting up food distribution and shelter after fires, storms or any other natural disaster.
Jim loved all sports but mostly the San Francisco Giants. He was a true and loyal fan. He spent many happy times at Spring Training in Scottsdale and at Giants Stadium in San Francisco.
There are quite a few guys who will raise a glass at the Cow Track and the H-Bar-B to note his passing. They will be joined by the guys at Mt. St. Helena golf course. He was a man’s man and a true friend.
He is survived by his wife Joan and many children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved them more than they will ever know.
A memorial service will be held as soon as COVID conditions allow.
