Gerald Lee (Gerry) Hammond, 64, of Oakdale, passed away on Aug. 30th, 2018. He was born and raised in Oakdale, Ca., and lived here his entire life. Gerry started his work career in the bee business with his dad and brothers while in high school. He worked For Gilbert’s Trucking Company for 20 years, and Granite Construction Company the last 12 years of his work career. He retired just short of three years ago. Gerry was a very kind and loving man, who never knew a stranger, most especially when he and his grandson Jackson would go to garage sales on Saturday mornings. Gerry leaves behind his wife of 39 years, Becky; two sons, Gerry Jr., and Ryan; his loving daughter-in-law Jaime; two grandchildren, Jackson and Grace; three brothers, Steve, Kirk, and John Hammond; brother and sisters-in-laws, Dave and Stacy Beason, Ken and Debby Burton; and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, we are asking for donations to be made to Alexander Cohen Hospice House, 4368 Spyres Way, Modesto, Ca., 95356.
