ELISEO MARTINEZ

OCTOBER 30, 1926 - APRIL 12, 2015
   Eliseo Martinez, 88 Peacefully entered heaven’s gates on Sunday, April 12, 2015 at 8:50 am in his home, surrounded by family.
   He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Maria Luz Servin de Martinez; his children: Manuel Martinez, Eliseo Martinez, Magdalena Martinez de Vargas, Martha Martinez de Galvan, Luz Maria Martinez de Lopez, Laura Martinez de Echevarria, Rosalba Martinez de Silva, Salvador Martinez and Rita Leticia Martinez; 24 grandchildren and 42 great grandchildren.  He is also survived by his younger sister, Teresa Martinez de Ibarra.
   Eliseo was born and raised in Ziquitaro, Michoacan, Mexico. He met his sweetheart in Penjamillo, Michoacan, Mexico, and was married in his hometown on February 23, 1945 at age 19.
   Eliseo migrated to the United States in 1958. He arrived in Watsonville, California via the Bracero Program that was prompted by a demand for manual agricultural labor. Soon after Eliseo was established, his wife and children were able to join him in 1963 where they made Oakdale, California their home.
   Eliseo, began working at Hunt Wesson Foods in 1965 and retired in 1989. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, hunting, traveling and watching and attending sporting events.
Some of his favorite teams included the San Francisco 49ers, San Francisco Giants and el equip America de futbol de la liga Mexicana.
He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Viewing and Rosary will be held on Wednesday April 15, 2015 at 5pm at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Oakdale.
Funeral will be held on Thursday April 16, 2015 at 10am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Oakdale.
